Bail Bonds FAQ

Have a question about bail bonds? Gonzales Bail Bonds has the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • How much does a bond usually cost?

Fees for bonds are determined by the state. Speak to one of our agents at Gonzales Bail Bonds to determine the value of your bond as well as any associated fees.

  • How long does it take to get out of jail after posting bond?

It takes mere minutes to create the bond and we'll deliver the bond to the local jail ASAP. However, we cannot predict how busy the jail will be, so it may take some time for the bond to be processed. On average, it may take 3-4 hours.

  • Do I need collateral?

Depending on the value of your bond, yes, you may need to put up collateral. At Gonzales Bail Bonds, we can work with you to determine the appropriate collateral. It will be returned when you show up for your court date.

  • What happens if I miss my court date?

If is your responsibility to check with the district attorney's office and know when you are on the court docket. Showing up in court on your scheduled date is very important. Contracts are signed that say you will not miss your court date. If you do, penalty fees will accrue.

If you do miss your date, contact your bail bondsman and/or attorney right away to prevent the potential of needing to post another bond.

If you change addresses, you must notify your attorney and bail bondsman, as well as the sheriff's office, to keep receiving your paperwork in the mail.
